We needed a domain desperately which was already registered by a person in Chennai, India.  We tried contacting him but it was of no use. So we decided to get the domain through backorder because it was near its expiry.  And since the domain already has a Google PR of 4, we knew there may be come competition form Automated bidders.

We searched for the registrar and found that it was registered through

Registrar: Directi Internet Solutions Pvt. Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com (R27-LROR)

Now we were to decide which company to use for backorder. After a little research we found that Snapnames has an exclusive partnership with  Directi Internet Solutions Pvt. Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com (R27-LROR)

So just signed up at Snapnames and setup and backorder. I was told that the minimum bid was 59$ and will have to pay only after the domain is aquired successfully.. and that was good news.

The domain was to expire on 12 March

As days neared I was curesly looking checking the whois to see the status. Also I signed up on domaintools.com for domain monitoring and notification service.

and on 12 march I was shocked to get an email from domaintools.com  and see that the domain was renewed for 1 more year.

I just went to the domain but was bit amused to see only ads and got to know it was parked.

Then i recieved an email after 11 days from snapnames, I was really happy that snapnames is still after the domain, but a bit sad to know that they have increased the initial bit by $30 without any reason.
Dear SnapNames Customer,
Domain name(s) that you have placed a bid on are now scheduled for auction at a starting bid that is greater than your current maximum bid.
In order to win a domain name, the minimum price must be met and your bid must be the winning bid.
Be sure to check on the start day of the auction for the actual start time. Note that if multiple equal bids are received, the first bidder wins the opening bid.
